Heat transfer vinyl (HTV) print is a specialized printing technology used in the textile industry to transfer designs onto fabrics using vinyl material. The process involves cutting the design out of a sheet of vinyl using a specialized cutter, and then using heat and pressure to transfer the vinyl onto the fabric.
The first step in the heat transfer vinyl print process is to create the design using graphic design software. Once the design is complete, it is sent to a specialized vinyl cutter, which cuts the design out of a sheet of vinyl using a sharp blade.
Once the design is cut, it is weeded, which means removing the unwanted vinyl material from around the design. The design is then placed onto the fabric with the sticky side facing down. The fabric and vinyl are then placed onto a heat press machine, where heat and pressure are applied to transfer the vinyl onto the fabric.
Inside the press, the vinyl is pressed onto the fabric with a combination of heat and pressure, which causes the vinyl to adhere to the fabric. Once the vinyl has been transferred, the backing paper is peeled off, leaving the design on the fabric.
